Centre Pompidou
The Centre Pompidou, designed by Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers, is captured in this series through medium-format photographs, 35mm Black & White, and later images taken with the Fuji X100. The building’s revolutionary design—its exposed structure, color-coded services, and inside-out circulation—redefined the relationship between architecture and public life. What impressed me most was the expansive plaza sloping gently toward the façade, a vast urban stage constantly filled with performers, visitors, and passersby. This open space transforms the museum into an active civic hub, where the energy of the city gathers before entering the building.
The architecture itself reveals its technical systems externally—ducts, escalators, and structural elements displayed with unapologetic clarity—creating a dynamic composition that celebrates movement and transparency. Ascending to the upper levels, sweeping views of Paris unfold, offering a panoramic reading of the city’s rooftops and landmarks. The photographs capture this interplay between innovation and public life: a building that is at once an architectural manifesto and a vibrant urban gathering place.
